CBP ends the use of temporary migrant processing sites as aprehensions collapses

U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed to Fox News Digital News that no “gentle-face” facility is no longer working, after the closure of a migrant processing center near San Diego in March.

The Biden administration used the facilities to process migrants that entered the country illegally in various places in California, Texas and Arizona, in the midst of an increase of millions that crossed the border.

“Due to the unprecedented fall of the Aprehensions of the illegal aliens as a result of the recent executive actions of the President, CBP does not operate any temporary processing installation on the gentle face where illegal foreigners have remained in specific places along the southwest border. CBP no longer need for them, as they were quickly eliminated,” confirmed the Sparkesperson to Fox News. Digital digital digital.

“ The U.S. border patrol has the capacity to manage the arrest of aliens captured in the permanent facilities of the USBP. The labor and other resources dedicated to the temporary processing facilities will be redirected to other priorities and will accelerate the CBP’s progress by obtaining operational control over the southern border, ” said the spokesman.

On March 13, CBP said that three Texas and two Arizona facilities closed, but a California and one Texas location were still open.

In March, Fox News Digital reported that CBP had closed the Otay Mesa facility, which was launched in January 2023 when the border crisis incorporated.

“For the first time in years, more agents are back in the field: the territories that CBP did not have the width of the band or the labor force to supervise only six months ago,” said Pete Flores, a CBP curator, said in a statement on May 12. “But thanks to the dramatic change of this security stance on our border, we now see operating control that becomes reality, and it is just as a beginning.”
